DOUBLE Contributions THROUGH MATCHING PROGRAM

Clay County Progress "Your Views" March 2, 2023

During March and April, the Gottlieb family will match contributions made to the Clay County Food Pantry — voted 2022 “Best Charity” by Clay County Progress readers.

The Gottlieb’s are part-time residents of Clay County and have been helping the community

for more than nine years by matching contributions. Contributions can be either food

assistance — non-perishable pre-packaged and can foods or monetary donations. Food

donations can be dropped off in person from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Fridays at 2278 Hinton Center

Road.

You can also add food donations to the drums located at the exits of the Hayesville

Ingles. Mail your monetary, taxdeductible contribution to The Clay County Food Pantry, Inc.

P.O. Box 853, Hayesville, N.C. 28904. If you have questions, call (828) 389-1657.

In Clay County about 14 percent of our population live below the poverty line based on

the 2020 Census data. The Clay County Food Pantry has been serving the community for more than 30 years and is an all-volunteer non-profit organization whose purpose is to aid individuals and families in our community who are in need of food assistance. In 2022 we helped a weekly average of 127 families/309 individuals and distributed more than 8,300 boxes of food for the year. With the rising cost of food and the increase in demand, the need for assistance has increased and your generous donation is needed now more than ever. Take advantage of this matching program and your contribution will go twice as far to help those in need.
